NiQuitin Mint Gum is part of a programme designed to support your wish to stop smoking. The programme consists of 3 steps, which you will need to follow, starting with Step 1, then Step 2, then Step 3. Using the gum at regular intervals gives your body the nicotine you need to help you stop smoking. Stopping smoking straightaway is best for your health but if you are not able to you can also use the gum to help you cut down before stopping or to help you stop smoking for short periods of time.

How to use:

Preparation & Usage:

Chew slowly until the taste becomes strong (about 1 minute) then stop and rest the gum against your cheek. When the taste fades, chew a few times until the taste gets strong then rest the gum again. Full instructions are given in the enclosed leaflet. Do not use more than 15 pieces per day. If you need to use the gum for longer than 9 months (3 months for 12-17 year olds) seek advice from a healthcare professional.

Adults (18 years and over).

Stopping smoking straightaway. NiQuitin 4 mg Mint Gum can be used according to the timetable on the side panel which is designed to gradually reduce the number of pieces of gum you use. During Step 1, 8-12 pieces should be used each day. You should make every effort to stop smoking completely during your quit attempt. Cutting down. When you feel an urge to smoke have a piece of gum instead of a cigarette. Cut down the number of cigarettes you smoke a day by as many as possible. As soon as you feel able, follow the instructions for stopping smoking straightaway. Stopping smoking for short periods of time. When you feel an urge to smoke have a piece of gum instead of a cigarette. Have a piece of gum every 1-2 hours.

Young people (12-17 years old).

Follow the instructions above for stopping smoking straightaway but do not use the gum for longer than 12 weeks. If you are not ready to stop smoking straightaway or you need to use the gum for longer than 12 weeks, talk to a healthcare professional. DO NOT USE. If you are allergic to the ingredients listed on the side panel. If you are in hospital because of heart problems unless your doctor tells you to.
